HeroIn the city Beira, in Mozambique, thousands of people use the bicycle as their primary means of transportation every day. For some, the bicycle alone can generate a multiplication of their income. For others, the bicycle is a means of transportation in order to get to work. Young men also use their bicycles as a way of impressing girls. Every year, the Danish company Baisikeli sends containers packed with used European bicycles to Beira. In the city, engineers from Baisikeli restore and sell the bicycles. This helps create jobs and improves the quality of the bicycles in the city. |
