Wall Street might be the most famous street in the world. The eight-block-long street in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City is well known for being the center of american stockbroking. Wall Street is home to the world’s two largest stock exchanges; the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Over time, Wall Street have become a symbol on American economy.
In 2008, when the financial crisis hit the world, the images of lost bankers with moving boxes standing like statues on the street, became the symbol of the worlds crisis. Later came the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement against economic inequality. It spread around the world and continued for years to make demonstrations and statements against the financial world.
Several Hollywood movies have being playing out their drama on this 800 meters long street in the heart of New York. Wall Street will forever be a part of American history. As life goes on among tourist and occupants in sleeping bags, it is business as usual for the well dressed stockbrokers.
